About the role
As the Ecommerce Trading Manager (DTC Analyst), it is your job to oversee and optimise eCommerce operations across our Magento and Shopify platforms.
This role will be pivotal in driving the commercial success of our online business by focusing on product and category management, commercial KPIs, data validation/reporting as well as working with the core Operational team to improve stock and logistics efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and commercial mindset, a deep understanding of eCommerce metrics, and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
What you’ll do in the role
Commercial KPI Management:
- Analyse and interpret eCommerce performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
- Provide actionable commercial insights to improve product and category performance, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Monitoring and reporting on the profitability of products and categories, flagging any concerns or underperformance to senior stakeholders
- Develop and monitor key commercial KPIs to assess the performance of the eCommerce platform
- Monitor and manage key metrics, including conversion rates, average order value (AOV), customer retention, and traffic sources
- Track and report on customer LTV, CAC, last mile, Customer Service SLA’s and performance of our 3PL’s - ensuring these metrics are optimised for sustainable growth
- Identify and address any issues impacting eCommerce KPIs, implementing corrective actions where necessary
Data Validation and Reporting:
- Overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of ecommerce data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Creating and presenting regular reports on trading performance, highlighting insights and actionable recommendations
- Managing our reporting suite (Adobe Analytics/Magento Bi/GA4/Shopify Analytics + others) and in conjunction with the data team, ensure comprehensive dashboards are built and are accurately pulling information and manage those on an ongoing basis
Product and Category Focus:
- Managing product assortments to maximising sales and profitability
- Collaborating with the wider eCommerce team, merchandising and brand marketing teams to develop promotional strategies that align with product/category performance
- Working with PLM & brand marketing teams, build strategies around segmented products for the DTC business ensuring that there is a steady stream of online exclusives to drive commercial differentiation between sales channels
- In conjunction with demand planning and the wider eCommerce team, take the lead on stock forecasting for future seasonal product launches bearing in mind commercial targets, marketing focuses and key styles
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborating with various teams, including marketing, logistics, and IT, to ensure a seamless online shopping experience in regards to product and stock
- Ensuring that our logistics partners are performing as expected and suggest & implement strategies with the logistics team to improve the customer delivery & order experience
- Participating in strategic planning sessions to align eCommerce initiatives with overall business goals
What will help you do the job well
🗝 Essential:
- University degree or equivalent relevant experience
- A deep understanding of eCommerce commercial metrics, product & category management, and promotional planning
- 5+ Years of eCommerce/DTC experience in premium consumer goods businesses
- A high level of understanding and expertise with Adobe Analytics/Magento BI/GA4 or other comparative reporting software.
- Experience with managing/high level of understanding of DTC operations – last mile, delivery partners & packaging
- Industry knowledge, financial acumen, business thinking, results driven, and a team player
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), French a plus.
