Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay is actively recruiting for the role of Operations Director. The Operations Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of the Krubong semiconductor factory, ensuring adherence to the Semiconductor Division’s policies and procedures. The key objective is to achieve operational excellence, focusing on cost management, quality, and timely delivery of products. The role includes leading a diverse team, ensuring continuous improvement, and driving performance against key operational KPIs.

Job Location:   Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia

Your roles and responsibilities:

  • Oversee factory operations to ensure alignment with division KPIs, including gross margin, yield, inventory turnover, productivity, and effective headcount management.
  • Align and execute the Company’s vision and strategies to achieve operational excellence and meet factory objectives.
  • Lead cost-control initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts to achieve product cost targets and adhere to budgetary goals.
  • Define and enforce quality policies while implementing robust quality control systems to guarantee superior product standards.
  • Manage timely delivery performance, including the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) schedules.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local legal, statutory, and environmental regulations, maintaining compliance with EHS standards and ISO certifications.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Management Team, enabling them to achieve operational and financial targets.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture by introducing as well as supporting employee motivation initiatives, such as recreational activities, sports events, and recognition programs for exceptional achievements.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • 10–15 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing operations, such as factory management, process engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
  • Communicating with Departmental Heads to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide compliance as well as monitoring company revenue margins and conducting budget reviews to maximize profits.
  • Comprehensive expertise in Backend Semiconductor processes, including assembly, packaging, and test. Added advantage with wire bonding, package design, molding, and packaging solutions integration.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, exceptional leadership abilities, capable of motivating teams at various organizational levels.
  • A proven history of success in cost control, operational management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A sound understanding of ISO and EHS standards, thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Statutory and Legal Compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills including providing reports on business operations to Senior management.
  • Effective management of resources, including human, financial, and material assets, is a key responsibility. The Operations Director must optimize resource use to maximize productivity and reduce costs, ensuring the financial health of the organization.
  • By identifying inefficiencies and implementing cost-saving measures, an Operations Director plays a vital role in reducing operational costs and maximizing profits, contributing directly to the organization’s bottom line.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and employees, is essential. The Operations Director ensures that all parties are aligned with the company’s operational strategies, building strong relationships that support business goals.
