Director of Wholesale
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Business Growth
- Oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the Wholesale business, managing a $50 million/year portfolio to achieve sustainable revenue and profitability growth. Develop and execute a strategic roadmap focused on scaling services and optimizing asset utilization.
- Monetize and optimize key assets (DWDM systems, CAM Terrestrial Rings, Subsea Systems, Bioceanic Corridors, MPLS networks, dark fiber infrastructure) to unlock value and capitalize on high-margin opportunities.
- Develop and execute a results-oriented strategic roadmap for the Wholesale Business Unit.
- Build partnerships with global carriers, ISPs, OTT players, and hyperscalers to expand revenue streams, maximize profitability and strengthen market positioning in Latam.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, such as cross-selling high-capacity projects and scaling high-value services.
- Combines strategic, technical, and operational expertise to deliver profitable business results while ensuring high-quality services across all markets.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to ensure the BU stays ahead in a highly dynamic industry.
- Coordinating investments, optimizing assets, and expand market share in a highly competitive environment.
- Set and achieve ambitious sales, revenue, EBITDA, and profitability targets, with a focus on measurable outcomes.
Technical Overview
- Deep understanding of large-capacity transport networks, dark fiber infrastructure, last-mile services, and advanced connectivity solutions (IPVPN, EPL, DWDM), among others.
- Collaborate with engineering, factory and operations teams to implement profit-driving technologies such as multiplexing, transponders, lambdas, and network automation tools, and drive network expansion initiatives to reserve capacity for resale and future scalability, leveraging backbone upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ITU, MEF) while driving innovation in cost-effective product development.
Governance and Compliance
- Develop and implement a governance framework with measurable outcomes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and industry best practices.
- Establish streamlined processes to enable timely decisions that maximize the Wholesale's financial and operational performance.
- Lead strategic quarterly reviews to provide a 360-degree view of wholesale relationships and address emerging challenges.
- Mitigate operational risks to ensure service continuity and safeguard profitability.
Operational Excellence
- Foster a high-performance culture by optimizing team structures, workflows, and operational processes to improve cost efficiency and scalability.
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize resource utilization across the Business Unit.
- Drive operational cost optimization to improve EBITDA margins and bottom-line performance
- Oversee lifecycle management for critical infrastructure assets to ensure long-term value creation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with global telecom operators, carriers, ISPs, and other stakeholders to expand market share and strengthen the Wholesale BU’s position in Latam.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering insights on industry trends and regulatory changes to improve competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Wholesale initiatives with broader corporate priorities, ensuring strong financial outcomes.
Talent Development
- Build and develop a technically skilled, high-performing team, capable of managing complex projects and delivering profitable results.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, focus, agile with accountability, and innovation focused on sustained financial performance.

Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in leadership roles within the telecommunications or wholesale industry.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale network infrastructure while delivering profitable outcomes.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale network infrastructure and driving business growth.
- Experience in international markets, cross-border network projects, and high-capacity transport solutions.
- Skills:
- Strategic thinking with a strong ability to translate vision into actionable, profit-focused plans.
