Director of Technical Content Development and Enablement

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY.... (Ability to work Remote)

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Technical Content Development and Enablement to lead the development and execution of innovative enablement strategies for our platform delivery teams, including our Implementation and Professional Services teams.   This role also serves our Solution Architects; our top Digital sellers responsible for developing complex solution proposals.  This role will be pivotal in ensuring the success of our SaaS & Digitization platforms by equipping teams with the knowledge, tools, and skills required to deliver an excellent customer experience.

 
As the Director of Technical Content Development and Enablement, you will be responsible for creating a comprehensive enablement program, including training, certification, and continuous learning initiatives. You will also lead efforts to capture and disseminate critical knowledge from engineering teams, build a robust technical documentation repository, and drive transformational change within the organization. This role requires expertise in adult learning strategies, technical documentation, and change management, as well as strong leadership skills to guide a team of technical writers and trainers.  In 2025, we are building out a SI partner program; this role will be responsible for creating and executing a partner enablement strategy in addition to other duties.


Key Responsibilities

Act as a People Leader for the Technical Enablement team

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of enablement professionals including technical writers,  and trainers.

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

  • Demonstrate the Iron Mountain leadership accountabilities of Partner, Grow, Dare & Inspire.  

Create & Execute Technical Enablement Strategies

  • Design and implement a comprehensive technical enablement strategy that includes onboarding, training, and continuous learning programs.

  • Develop and execute a certification program to ensure technical teams demonstrate mastery of skills and platform capabilities.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning to address evolving SaaS and Digitization platform capabilities and delivery methodologies.

  • Develop & execute enablement roadmaps & project plans that keep pace with our platform deployments and ready the the Delivery teams accepting these deployments

  • Establish & report enablement metrics that convey the effectiveness of our enablement approaches

Capture & Disseminate Knowledge for our Technical Teams

  • Collaborate closely with SaaS & Digitization platform engineering teams to extract and document critical knowledge.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable training materials and resources tailored to delivery team needs.

  • Design and develop a centralized knowledge repository to support internal delivery teams and external partners.

  • Ensure documentation is user-friendly, up-to-date, and aligned with best practices for technical communication.

Drive Transformational Change in our Enablement Approaches

  • Address skill gaps and implement strategies to elevate the capabilities of technical teams new to SaaS delivery models.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including delivery teams, engineering, product management, sales, partners and customer success, to align enablement initiatives with business objectives.

  • Serve as a change agent to drive adoption of new processes and methodologies within technical teams.

Qualifications

Education & Job Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role focused on enablement, training, or professional development in a SaaS platform and Digitization technology environment.

  • Deep knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and continuous learning strategies.

  • Expertise in designing and implementing certification programs that confirm knowledge absorption and practical ability to drive customer deliveries.

  • Strong background in technical writing, documentation, and knowledge management.  Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams to extract and communicate knowledge effectively.

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

  • Experience driving organizational change, particularly in transitioning teams to new delivery models.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Versed in both waterfall and agile project management models

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong executive facilitation skills and experience related to strategy development and problem solving

  • Solid strategic analytical & cross-functional influencing skills

  • Comfort in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities, operation with a strong sense of urgency

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills (including presentations), as well as listening and interpretation skills

  • High degree of professionalism and integrity, results orientated

International Experience

  • Direct work experience as part of a large multinational organization a significant plus
