We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Director Software Quality Assurance to lead our QA organization and help us continue delivering top-tier products to our customers.
Role Overview:
As the Director, Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for building and growing a world-class QA team that has employees in the Dominican Republic and the United States, setting department-wide standards, and ensuring our software and systems are delivered with the highest quality. You will work closely with development teams, aligning QA strategies with current and future needs to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and Lead a High-Performing QA Team (in Dominican Republic and US)
○ Develop an efficient QA organization that meets the quality needs of our business.
○ Collaborate with development and organizational leads to understand evolving needs, ensuring staffing, training, and growth align with these requirements.
○ Implement testing strategies that blend automated and manual testing, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
Establish QA Standards and Best Practices
○ Create and maintain centralized QA standards, documentation, and policies across all teams.
○ Ensure all QA staff adhere to these standards, adjusting as necessary to support the organization's growth.
○ Provide training and support to maintain and grow team competencies. Mentor and Develop QA Talent
○ Identify skill gaps and provide targeted training to build competencies for both automated and manual testing.
○ Foster a learning environment where knowledge sharing and best practices are encouraged.
○ Support the onboarding process by maintaining up-to-date documentation and training materials.
Monitor and Improve Quality Metrics
○ Collaborate with the SVP of Engineering to define and track quality metrics.
○ Analyze data trends to identify areas for improvement, driving actions that enhance quality.
○ Work closely with development and product teams to implement process changes that support quality goals.
Drive Automation and Continuous Improvement
○ Set and track quarterly goals for automated testing, ensuring teams meet and exceed targets.
○ Facilitate the transition from manual to automated testing, ensuring robust and effective test scenarios.
○ Partner with DevOps and Development teams to establish the necessary infrastructure and support for automated testing.
What We’re Looking For:
● Excellent English Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
● US Tech Experience: Previous experience working for a US-based tech company is preferred.
● Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing QA teams.
● Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute testing strategies that support the delivery of high-quality software.
● Strong English Speaking and Writing Ability:
● Collaborative: Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with development, product, and engineering teams.
● Passionate about Quality: A commitment to maintaining high standards and implementing best practices.
● Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of both automated and manual testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
