As a Portfolio and Resource allocation Director, you will lead the OU Portfolio and Resource Allocation Strategy development at local level, partnering with the Marketing, Finance and Frontline teams, prioritizing initiatives and allocating resources towards the growth opportunities.
This is a people manager regional role for Latin America with a total team of 3 associates & indirect influences around 300 leaders across different functions in the OU (including Marketing, Franchise, Commercial, Finance, Technical, among others).
What You’ll Do For Us
- Take the Global resource allocation strategy forward, getting more granular at OU functional level and Franchise Units levels (actionable combos).
- Generate local learnings to drive and feed Global resource allocation practice evergreen process.
- Partner with Marketing leads on prioritizing the different combos and developing the Portfolio Strategy
- Partner with Marketing Network Capabilities to ensure that Portfolio Strategy is reflected into prioritization of E2E plans
- Partner with Finance to define the best DME Allocation Strategy to balance investment across categories and countries behind our top growth priorities
- Partner with Franchise Strategy Integration to ground Portfolio and Resource Allocation Strategy and transform insights into action
- Partner with Strategy Orchestration and Strategy Insights & Analysis to ensure smooth connection of Portfolio Strategy & Resource Allocation discipline with Long Range Plan and Annual Business Plan deliverables
- Favor an effective governance for resource allocation/priorities pivoting during the year (shifts, new initiatives, etc.) ensuring coherence/link with strategic definitions while tracking compliance / identify learnings
- Foster dialogue among category teams to support management of overall category portfolio.
Qualification & Requirements
Education Requirements:
- +10 years of experience in several Business Development roles, such as Strategy, Planning, Insights, Consulting, PMO, among others.
- Proven trajectory as leader of others and/or cross functional teams’ coordination and alignment, and influencing peers and senior management roles.
- Ability to integrate and prioritize (portfolio brands, initiatives, workstreams) and allocate resources (DME, FTEs, etc.) through a fact based and holistic approach, handling trade-offs, balancing immediate and long-term priorities, partnering, aligning and engaging key stakeholder.
Mastery Of (Required):
- Strategic thinking and Storytelling: integrate diverse business insights and connecting the dots to develop holistic approach
- Problem framing and solving: ability to structure and coordinate / lead cross functional complex analysis, initiatives, or efforts
- Prioritization: prioritize through a pragmatic fact-based approach, handling trade-offs, balancing immediate and long-term priorities
- Stakeholder management: identify, influence, align and engage key stakeholders
- Project management skills or experience, including comfort with ambiguity
Broad Expertise In (Good To Have):
- Synthesis and storytelling: Communicate, influence and convince stakeholders through a structured, fact base and action oriented storytelling
- Broader system knowledge either in another function or deep experience with multifunctional projects impacting a larger system
- Industry and competitive assessment: business and execution strategy
- Facilitation skills to drive better conversations into practical applications
- Strategic consulting experience
