MetLife is offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to our digital and AI transformation journey. We are seeking an experienced technology program management office leader to drive the technology transformation that will enable business results.
The PMO Lead has skills and competencies that are critical for managing Platform Engineering, DevOps & Developer Experience transformation programs that are complex and ensuring their successful completion, contributing to the organization's strategic goals and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Hands-on and dedicated Program Manager that is able to prioritize projects, allocate resources and budgets, manage project risk, and report on delivery as follows:
- Scope Management: Define scope and assign tasks or user stories to appropriate teams.
- Schedule Management: Creating and tracking schedules, reporting on schedule health, and managing schedule change requests.
- Budget Management: Creating and tracking budgets, reporting financial health, and managing budget change requests.
- Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining effective ongoing communications and relationships with all stakeholders and executives.
- Status Reporting: Creating and distributing status reports, hosting project and steering committee meetings, and capturing and distributing meeting minutes.
- Risk Management: Implementing risk management to ensure all risks are identified and appropriately mitigated.
- Issue Management: Implementing issue management to ensure all issues are documented, tracked, and timely resolved.
- Creating/Maintaining Project Management Artifacts: Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and available to all team members.
Candidate Qualifications:
Education:
- BA/BS/MS/MBA IT, Business
- Certified in Agile or Project Management such as SAFe, PMP, Prince etc.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in project or program management in financial services and technology domain
- Proficiency in software development lifecycle including CI/CD, test driven development, domain driven design and Agile ways of working (including shift-left)
Skills and Competencies:
- Competencies
- IT Project Management - a subject matter expert in managing projects using Agile or methodologies.
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic - a subject matter expert in planning tasks with both short-term and long-term perspectives.
- Risk and Issue Management - Extensive experience is required in identifying owners, managing risks, and facilitating or leading discussions to track and report on risks and issues until resolution1.
- Budgeting - extensive experience in collecting cost estimates, creating budgets, tracking budgets to set financial targets, and managing budget change requests.
- Schedule Management - Extensive experience in collecting tasks and durations from the project team, creating schedules, tracking project tasks, and managing schedule change requests.
- People Management: Inspiring, motivating and leading teams
- Systems Development Life Cycle - Extensive experience in formal methodologies for planning and executing application development, enhancement, or support1.
- Communication: Ability to influence and help communicate business priorities to ensure results are achieved
- Collaboration: Proven track record collaborating and working effectively in a global and multi-cultural environment
- Diverse environment: Can-do attitude and ability to work in a high paced environment
- Tech Stack - Good understanding of these tools, don't need coding knowledge.
