What we’re looking for:
Nexamp is looking to hire a Director of Site Origination to lead and grow a high-performing team of Origination associates responsible for identifying viable project sites, managing lead campaigns, engaging with prospects, and securing site control opportunities in key target markets. This pivotal role exists to drive Nexamp's growth objectives by developing and implementing effective origination strategies, creating and optimizing team processes, and enhancing team member performance, while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with 5-6 years sales or business development experience, as well as 2+ years in solar, energy, real estate development or a comparable industry, and a demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results through team leadership and strategic planning.
You will be hybrid out of either our Boston or Chicago office. You will report to the VP, Business Development.
What you’ll do:
- Build, lead, manage and develop an Origination team that meets Nexamp’s growth objectives in all target markets and product verticals.
- Leverage internal platforms and technology tools to identify, implement, and optimize efficient and effective, data-driven sales processes that promote a high-performance team.
- Develop and manage personnel training and development strategies to augment skills and maximize throughput of all team members.
- Work with Business Development leadership to establish resource allocation plans, and tailor effective origination strategies in current and emerging markets, across product verticals
- Enforce data management and compliance standards across team
- Develop and manage external lead referral partners, as needed, to support origination efforts while maintaining Nexamp’s professional standards and market/site-specific diligence requirements.
- Occasional travel required.
What you’ll bring:
- Five to Six in a sales/business development role, with at least two years in a supervisor or other management role.
- One or more years of solar, energy, real estate development or comparable industry experience in a sales/business development role, with a successful track record for originating new business.
- Proficient in performance evaluation and the ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Strategic thinking with a knack for identifying new sales opportunities.
- Project Management skills, and a ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and report generation.
- Knowledge management to effectively capture and utilize informational assets.
- Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
- Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members
