What we’re looking for:
Nexamp is growing their Clean Energy Operations team and seeking to hire a Director, SCADA and Controls Integration. You will lead Nexamp’s center of excellence responsible for providing complete lifecycle controls engineering, programming, and SCADA services supporting 1+GWs of Nexamp-owned solar photovoltaic and energy storage assets. You will be directly accountable for influencing and delivering the cross-team development and maintenance of SCADA requirements, RTAC controls, code and data libraries, and documentation on a project-by-project basis. You will serve as Nexamp’s operational technologies subject matter expert, ensuring on and offsite equipment complies with existing and emerging regulations, access control protocols, cyber security, and data integrity from an Owner perspective. You will be responsible for realizing the development, fielding and lifecycle management of Nexamp’s proprietary supervisory control and data acquisition platform, for Nexamp and eventually third-party-owned infrastructure.
We are supporting hybrid work out of either our Lawrence, MA, Boston, MA or Chicago, IL offices. You will report to the VP, Nexamp Operations Center.
What you’ll do:
- Lead Nexamp’s center of excellence responsible for providing full spectrum controls engineering, programming, and SCADA services from development through construction and operation of Nexamp’s owned distributed generation and utility scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage asset base.
- Directly accountable for the development and maintenance of RTAC controls and SCADA requirements, code and data libraries, and documentation on a project-by-project basis.
- Serves as Nexamp’s operational technologies subject matter expert, ensuring on and offsite equipment complies with existing and emerging regulations, access control protocols, cyber security, and data integrity.
- Responsible for fielding and maintaining Nexamp Vision SCADA platform, supported by a dedicated O/T network, and promoting its use and implementation on a growing number of Nexamp and third-party owned assets over time.
- Influences decision making across teams to jointly determine project design, equipment selection, budgets, timelines and implementation processes.
- Develops robust team members by inspiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent through thoughtful leadership and continuous training and professional development.
What you’ll bring:
- 10+ years’ experience with an energy company, utility, SCADA developer, power generation facility, or through comparable government or military work.
- Comprehensive experience developing, sourcing, budgeting, implementing and troubleshooting remote controls, energy management, SCADA hardware and software, network and communications solutions
- Proven track record of project management including cooperating, leading and influencing direct reports, adjacent teams and supporting contractors working toward integrated control solutions as a nationwide owner of energy infrastructure
- General knowledge of US power and ancillary service markets, combined with a displayed commitment to fighting climate change through grid modernization and the electrification of America
- General knowledge of commercial and utility scale PV and energy storage technologies and operations
- Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
- General knowledge of NERC requirements for battery energy storage assets.
- Working knowledge of emerging NERC requirements for inverter based resources.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
- Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members
