About This Role
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the Director of Finance for the Global Functions will be primarily responsible for all aspects of business planning and accounting for the GPS&C (Global Product and Strategy & Commercialization), Global Medical, and iCOE (International Center of Excellence) organizations. The Director of Finance will be a trusted advisor to the Head of GPS&C and the Chief Medical Officer and their leadership teams, and is expected to be a proactive partner to the business to ensure that operational goals are tightly aligned with their financial plans.
What You’ll Do
• Lead planning processes including Monthly Outlooks, Quarterly Forecasts, and Annual Operating Plans
• Ensure corporate OPEX targets are met by challenging assumptions and presenting trade-off options to business leaders
• Monitor and report ongoing business performance against budgets/forecasts and work with business partners to understand and identify reasons for variances, as well as find offsets to stay within budget targets
• Collaborate with business partners to analyze trends and develop accurate forecasts while ensuring prudent portfolio investment with transparency on risks and opportunities
• Provide leadership team with forecast insights, performance metrics and financial analytics for improved organizational decision making
• Serve as thought leader and change agent to drive results
• Support business process improvement initiatives
• Provide accounting oversight and support the monthly / quarterly accounting close for expenses and accruals, including compliance with SOX control requirements
• Prepare materials for EC and BOD presentations
• Support broader organization through ad hoc projects and analysis
Head of Global Functions Finance will be part of the FP&A leadership team and serve to manage two direct reports:
• Provide professional growth and development planning for direct reports and broader FP&A team
• Drive an environment of actionable timely feedback and provide coaching and mentoring
• Develop employees to excel in FP&A core competencies
Qualifications
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will possess a history of strong performance and focus on supporting multiple teams. You have extensive experience in reporting and analysis. You thrive working in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines. You have the ability to quickly grasp the teams’ operations and drivers and will possess a high degree of integrity and independence with at least 12 years of experience in financial planning & analysis and equivalent vocations.
This individual will be able to demonstrate proven success as a strong partner advising teams on issues relating to financial reporting, use of financial systems, and presentation of financial summaries and financial analysis. The Director, Finance should have the ability to provide clear direction to the teams and feel comfortable working in, as well as embracing, an environment that is changing and challenging. This role should demonstrate strong project management skills and an ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time. The candidate must have a significant financial analysis background and a strong understanding of accounting. Being highly skilled with a multitude of information technology systems. Experience with Hyperion is a must and Oracle Financials is a plus.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline and Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
