  Role Overview

Coupang is creating a new shopping experience to impress each and every customer, from the  

moment a customer opens the Coupang app to the moment the product is delivered to the door.   

With an outstanding end-to-end e-commerce and logistics network, and a culture that is

 About CRM / Category Insights & and this role:

The purpose of Sitewide Events & Goldbox Team is to manage all Sitewide Events in the platform as well as Goldbox page (highest traffic page on Coupang after gateway) that will drive company growth using Sitewide Events and Goldbox/Time deals promotions. The goal is to increase spend and conversion for customers visiting the promotion page and to boost sales of items with the event promotions (increase conversion and basket size for customers impacted) . As a Growth Marketing Leader. This role will not be limited to Growth Marketing and will require extensive interaction across the organization (finance, Retail teams, Business teams, etc.) to support growth.




 

What You Will Do

  • Event Planning and Execution:
    1. Develop and execute comprehensive event strategies, including timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    2. Manage all aspects of event execution, from pre-event planning to post-event analysis ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements related to events.
    3. Oversee the creation and implementation of event creatives, including website banners, external touchpoints campaigns, etc..
    4. Improve program performance with an experimentation pipeline to support business priorities and introducing new event concepts
    5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, marketing) to ensure seamless event integration and to promote event visibility and traffic.
    6. Create goals, budgets, and timelines for each event
  • Event Performance Management (Customer Acquisition and Retention, and Topline Growth):
    1. Develop and implement strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention as well as Topline Growth during and after events.
    2. Analyze event performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    3. Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in event management and e-commerce.
  • Strategy, Leadership, and Management:
    1. Define and execute the overall strategy for onsite merchandising and events, aligning with broader business goals and customer experience objectives. 
    2. Lead and motivate a team of event managers and other relevant staff.
    3. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
    4. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
    5. Flexibility and adaptability to changes and unexpected situations
    6. Communicate regularly with senior leadership and external partners, ensuring alignment and driving top-level business goals. 
    7. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize merchandising and event performance. 
    8. Understanding of e-commerce business models, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 15 years of work experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning (preferably in the e-commerce or retail industry).
  • BA/BS/MA/MS, preferable in Finance/Marketing/ Economics/Statistics; MBA is a plus
  • Experience in analyzing data and identifying trends and insights to inform data driven decisions for improving event performance.
  • Experience in exploring and implementing new merchandising mechanisms and event formats to improve customer engagement and drive sales.
  • Experience to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience in working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  •  
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • High level of adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of online merchandising best practices, digital marketing strategies, and customer behavior.
  • Fluent in English/Korean (Korean language preferred but not required)
