The Director, Finance Sales Operations is responsible for maintaining governance over Red River’s operational and financial results by driving operational excellence, optimizing sales processes, and enabling predictable, scalable revenue growth. This role will function as a liaison between Red River’s business unit leaders, Finance, and Supply Chain organizations by overseeing sales planning and forecasting, analytics, CRM management, and process optimization. The Director will report to the CFO and work closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment of sales and operational objectives and enhance forecasting accuracy. A deep understanding of sales data analysis, business process architecture, and forecasting is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Planning & Analytics:
- Analyze monthly results against budget/forecast to understand the impact of any variances on financial performance and understand supply chain’s accuracy in forecasting the delivery of products or services to customers.
- Own forecasting and sales modeling, providing accurate, real-time insights into sales performance and pipeline trends.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track historical sales performance, OEM trends, and operational KPIs.
- Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Work with the CRO and SDIRECTOR of Sales to determine necessary timing and value adjustments to the forecast to improve accuracy.
- Work with Supply Chain to determine necessary adjustments to the backlog delivery forecast to enhance accuracy.
- Evaluate the need for extended vendor payment terms to balance customer delivery requirements and provide guidance to sales to negotiate favorable or neutral working capital terms.
Process Optimization:
- Develop and execute strategies to standardize and streamline sales operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment across all business units.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and technology to enhance efficiency.
- Oversee the quote-to-cash process, ensuring seamless integration across departments.
- Recommend, develop, and implement policy and procedural improvements to the sales and supply chain processes.
Technology & CRM Management:
- Drive technology enablement by overseeing CRM systems and sales automation tools, ensuring optimal utilization.
- Maintain data integrity within sales systems, ensuring consistency and reliability in reporting.
- Assess, recommend, and implement new technologies to enhance sales productivity, reporting, and business intelligence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advisory:
- Provide insights to the Chief Revenue Officer, CFO, and other senior leaders on sales operations matters.
- Partner with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on key business initiatives.
- Support teams in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and collaboration across departments.
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, or sales process management.
- Expertise in CRM systems, sales automation tools, and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Demonstrated success in sales planning, forecasting, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Experience in driving strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects.
