DIRECTV is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance Planning and Analysis to join our Planning team and help drive financial decision-making across the organization. This key role will be responsible for managing the budgeting process, developing and maintaining long-term strategic forecasts, and providing critical insights to support business strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FP&A processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations. This position plays a crucial role in shaping our financial future and supporting strategic initiatives.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Drive the annual budgeting process, coordinating inputs from various business units and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support project-based initiatives and long-term strategic planning.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis to support business decisions and strategy, including analysis of internal business/financial performance and modeling of potential business initiatives.
  • Provide actionable financial and business insights to senior leadership, helping to guide decision-making and strategy formulation.
  • Manage various projects and corporate initiatives, ensuring timely completion and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in financial planning and analysis, continuously improving processes and methodologies.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to provide context for financial projections and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other finance functions (e.g., Accounting, Treasury) to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership as required.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies in all FP&A activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth through data-driven analysis.
  • Lead ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as requested by senior management.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred; MBA or Master's degree a plus.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in finance, with 1 – 2 years in a supervisory role in FP&A.
  • Expert knowledge of FP&A processes, budgeting techniques, and financial modeling.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of finance professionals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, business intelligence platforms).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with various business units.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience in a relevant industry sector is preferred.
  • CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
  • May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This Director of Finance Planning and Analysis position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's financial strategy and performance. This position requires, but is not limited to, 5% travel for team meetings/kick-offs.

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $116,375 - $211,255

Low (N1): $116,375 - $174,515

Mid (N2): $122,500 - $183,700

High (N3): $134,750 - $202,070

Top (N4): $140,875 - $211,255
