SUMMARY:
A senior leadership position that is responsible for developing and driving a global sourcing and purchasing strategy for our Control Devices Division. This position reports directly to the President of Control Devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy
- Establish short and long-range procurement strategies and execution plans for Mechanical Commodities and indirect purchasing that align with business plan
- Lead data-based Business Plan reviews with Strategic suppliers that cover cost, quality, delivery, and service expectations.
- Partners cross-functionally with Product Line Management, Engineering, and Sales to maintain product line profitability by matching Procurement strategies and product strategies (VAVE, dual sourcing, etc.)
- Performs market analysis of emerging trends and requirements for all current and future product line needs that could affect pricing and supply Stoneridge.
- Keeps abreast of industry technology trends along with Stoneridge, Inc. products and market position to assure that Stoneridge has optimal Procurement strategies
- Engages with Engineering to drive supplier innovation and design for manufacturability
- Introduces and highlights potential gaps in supply chains to support product line innovation.
- Participates in product development and launch reviews to achieve program deliverables.
Supplier Relationships
- Accountable for Material Cost Improvement Plan (MCIP) delivery and escalation and formally owning the price to price portion of MCIP
- Identify new savings opportunities and lead supplier negotiations for assigned commodities
- Assess and mitigate supplier risk (quality, financial health, bankruptcy, delivery, and shortages)
- Leads the qualification process for new supplier linked to the commodity.
- Deploy Master Supplier and Global Quality Agreements with strategic suppliers
Leadership
- Strong engagement with Control Devices Leadership team on general business operations
- Strong leadership and team development for global procurement organization, in the US, Mexico, and China.
- Lead performance management and talent development activity ensuring a well-developed pipeline of talent and next generation of strategic Procurement leaders are maintained.
Relationships
- Demonstrated success establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Excellent business sense / judgment; the ability to influence others.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 - 15 or more years of Procurement experience within the automotive industry; experience working for an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or both.
- Master’s degree in Business discipline is strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Business discipline or Engineering is required.
