Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, IT Projects and Business Transformation is responsible for leading and managing the global IT projects and initiatives of the company. The role involves developing and implementing strategies that will improve the company's operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability. The Director will work closely with the senior leadership team to identify key business challenges and opportunities and develop solutions that drive growth and innovation. This role will coordinate functional requirements to support the identification and definition of IT solutions; as well as manage cross-functional teams to successful deployment of IT platforms on a divisional, regional, or global basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, business operations, and strategic planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT project management processes and procedures that align with the company's overall strategy and objectives
  • Work with the Exteriors Senior Leadership to formulate and execute Business Process Transformation, IT Strategy and goals
  • Responsible for Exteriors IT Portfolio Management in line with Strategy, Roadmaps, Resources & Budgets
  • Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to a team of Application Support professionals. Supports and develops the technical expertise needed to meet long-term business needs
  • Oversee the successful management of current enterprise platforms such as TraX, ChangeX, GCAR
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Ensure that project goals and objectives are clearly defined and communicated to all stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as necessary
  • Responsible for developing and providing standard Project Management processes, tools, reporting, templates to support IT Product Delivery and other projects
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Conduct regular status meetings with project teams and provide regular updates to senior leadership
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve business efficiency, productivity, and profitability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends that may impact the business, and develop plans to leverage these technologies to drive growth and innovation
  • Responsible for Organization Change Management (OCM) of the IT organization and users including change process, cultural changes, communication and understanding of group goals and alignment with Magna as a whole
  • Ensure delivery of enterprise-wide applications: development, configuration, bug fixes, change management, level 2 support using industry standard practices and tools
  • Responsible for instilling agile methods of working

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong leader with effective written and verbal communication skills who will drive processes and resolve issues.
  • Minimum ten (10) years' work experience required in multiple functional roles. Previous experiences with Engineering, Program Management, Sales and Quality systems are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex global projects from inception, through implementation, and into steady-state deployment.
  • Business or Technical Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Technical or Business field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Preferred
  • Strong understanding of processes in different functional areas including APQP, product development processes, IT, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, HR, Purchasing, and other supporting business processes.
  • Excellent computer skills required. Proficient with MS Office suite, web-based and database applications.
  • Ability to outline, develop and provide training of business processes and supporting IT system solutions
  • Demonstrated successful performance utilizing web sites, database programs, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver results in high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines.


Work Environment:

  • Office environment: Up to 40% travel required.
  • While working in production environments, the colleague may be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.


Physical Demands/Work Environment
Normal amount of sitting, standing, and walking. Average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require travel.
