The Warehouse clerk is responsible for the receipt, recording, and disbursement of a wide variety of warehouse goods. Must be sufficiently knowledgeable about products and locations to service requisitions with a minimum delay. Uses a manual or terminal based inventory system.
The warehouse clerk is an execution role in the area of logistics/supply chain, focusing on the execution of the warehousing functions, or on the logistics/ (outbound) transport or a combination of both areas. More specifically, the warehouse clerk is responsible for processing the incoming goods, correct documentation and the outgoing goods (and the basic packaging tasks) The warehouse clerk will report into the warehouse & logistics manager, warehouse manager or transport/logistics manager.
Job Description:
Transport
Transport goods and supplies on site, or to other sites, or to customers, working within established procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
Incoming goods
Deliver simple warehouse and store tasks to ensure all goods and supplies are stored and recorded following established procedures.
Outgoing goods
Complete basic packaging tasks and assist others by following established procedures under supervision.
Inventory
Perform basic inventory control tasks and checks on quantities, quality, and availability against records following established inventory control procedures.
Operating Machine or Equipment
Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting one or more variables to achieve efficiency.
Document Preparation
Input content into standard templates. Also take responsibility for collating materials and photocopying them.
Work scheduling and allocation
Work according to an assigned schedule.
Operational Compliance
Following a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
Health, Safety and Environment
Follow basic mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
