Exus is seeking a Development Project Manager - West. Development Manager will be responsible the full range of project development activities within Exus’ portfolio, primary focus on solar located in the Western area of the United States, including but not limited to WECC, SPP and MISO states. Once opportunities are identified you will have overall responsibility for managing the delivery of the projects, securing agreements with land/business owners, obtaining all consents and approvals and supporting acquisition and/or sale of assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Help evaluate and identify development opportunities that meet the goals of Exus and its clients
  2. Manage and maintain all aspects of development stage projects.
  3. Engagement with project landowners, secure landowner leases and necessary waiver agreements. Lease negotiations done in coordination with Development Partner.
  4. Secure all 3rd-party consents and approvals to build and operate projects.
  5. Support in development of budgets for development activities based on location and know requirements for permitting and approvals.
  6. Identify and manage 3rd party consultants needed to provide studies and other services.
  7. Represent Exus and partners at landowner meetings and develop professional relationships with landowners and local government officials.
  8. Initiate and lead discussions with the relevant landowners about the development process.
  9. Communicate with landowners and project managers on project- related issues.
  10. Assist senior management in the purchase or sale of development assets, including due diligence and risk assessments.
  11. Finalize development stage projects for financing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent relevant experience, master’s preferred.
  • Familiarity with local and state regulation and policy governing renewable energy development.
  • Knowledge of federal permitting processes, including under the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act and other relevant regulation is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in manager level or similar position with relevant and comparable construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing and interacting with remote and/or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors.
