The Capital Markets business at FIS is a $3bn high growth segment delivering leading edge solutions to the world’s biggest Investment Banks, Asset Managers & Hedge Funds, Private Capital, Lending, Insurance and Risk Management firms. Capital Markets has three lines of business to support customer demands and meet ever evolving market requirements. These three lines of business are Trading and Asset Services, Treasury & Risk and Lending.

About the role:
As a Development Director, you will lead a global development team to advance the next generation of Virtus Front and Middle Office offerings. You will oversee application development and client delivery activities, ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration. You will lead the advancement of our cloud modernization initiatives, consistently striving to meet and exceed client expectations by delivering exceptional solutions. You will thrive by being a team-oriented player in a highly collaborative environment using agile development processes. The candidate must be a self-starter who is always open to optimizing existing development practices through new technologies, patterns, and processes.
What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to product teams, development teams, and clients.
- Create a high-performing team by attracting, developing, and engaging top talent.
- Ensure team members, processes, and tools are in place to deliver product releases on time and with quality.
- Provide architectural guidance and challenge assumptions on design and builds.
- Use Scaling Agile processes to develop leading software.
- Drive continuous improvement within the team to meet the organization OKRs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless delivery and operation of software services.
- Oversee key projects, processes, performance reports, data, and analysis.
- Stay updated on application service technologies and evolving standards within FIS and adopt new trends in the current platform
What you will need:
- 15+ years of industry experience with recent C#, SQL, modern web development (React, RESTful API, HTML5, CSS3) experience, and .NET tech stack
- Significant experience of leading software engineering teams for 7 years or more
- Strong experience with Azure cloud technology, SaaS, DevOps, CI/CD, performance scaling
- Highly developed problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team effectively under pressure
- A background in analyzing client's business needs and determining appropriate support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Proven track record in Agile methodologies and scaling Agile practices
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Understanding of security best practices in software development
- Knowledge of database management systems and data analytics
- Experience with AI and machine learning solutions, preferably GenAI.
- Ability to manage onshore and offshore teams effectively
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or the equivalent experience
- Financial services background, preferably with knowledge of Loans, Bonds and the Trading lifecycle.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $138,600.00 - $232,850.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
