In this role on the Wealth & Distribution Engineering team, you will work with a team of skilled and knowledgeable peers who cooperate to develop, shape and support solutions across the Wealth & Distribution value stream.
The Team
The Wealth & Distribution Engineering team is a shared service that supports various support & delivery organizations that facilitate multiple distribution channels. Your peers lead with accountability, coaching, collaboration, creativity, and knowledge to design the solutions that enable meaningful business outcomes and technical modernization for high priority initiatives. As a Developer, you'll work with other experienced technology experts to deliver solutions that improve our business processes. In this role, you will be expected to:
- Partner with Development, QA, Production Support and Solution Architect Teams to provide hands-on guidance with design, development, testing, and deploying web applications using a variety of technologies, such as Python Scripting, Powershell Scripting, Application Development using Lambda function, React, Node.js, MongoDB, GraphQL, etc.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet user
- needs and business goals.
- Optimize the performance, security, and scalability of the applications, using best practices and industry standards.
- Research and learn new technologies and tools and share your knowledge and insights with the team.
Typical day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Strong partnership & collaboration with the Development, QA and Operations teams
- Project Team Meetings, status, planning, requirement reviews, etc.
- Participation in Design & Code Reviews
- Participation Architecture/ Design Decisions & Technology Evaluations
- Awareness Industry Trends, Research, POC, Tools
- Participation in Test Plan Reviews
- Participation in Production Support Transition Reviews
- Contribute to our developers community by attending and participating in development Roundtables, Review Boards, and Guild meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years experience in Java, ETL/Informatica, Databases (Oracle/MS SQL/Vertica).
- 5+ years of professional experience as a developer, working on web applications in the financial or related services industry.
The Ideal Qualifications
- 1+ year strong knowledge and skills in front-end development, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
- 1+ year strong knowledge and skills in back-end development, using Node.js, Express, MongoDB, GraphQL, RESTful APIs,
- etc.
- 1+ year experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc., and DevOps tools, such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- 2+ years of experience in Wealth or Sales & distribution related business processes and technologies, including at least one of the following sub-domains: Marketing, Wealth Management, Distribution Management, Incentive Management, Broker Dealer Administration, Insurance Distribution.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications
- 10+ design & development experience including frontend, backend, database, and Integration technologies preferred.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for learning new technologies and keeping up with the latest trends in web development.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and ETL development including development patterns, and best practices
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment including employees, vendors, and third-party
- contractors.
- Excellent mentoring skills and the desire to contribute to efforts beyond the scope of the day-to-day project work.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced team members.
- Experience in AWS cloud & lambda application design, development, and deployment.
- Experience with event streaming and web service protocols like SOAP, REST, JSON, or Kafka
- Experience with data development, including database design, modeling, ETL and scheduling.
- General working knowledge of insurance data, investment data and /or financial data
- Experience in working with and enabling integrations with vendor / SaaS platforms.
- Experience in writing scripting language Python, Unix, PowerShell.
- Should be able to support the existing applications and debug the issues independently.
- Should be familiar with writing complex SQL queries and Stored procedures.
- Can do attitude, with the ability to drive to success in both independent and group projects.
- Able to be agile in thinking and approach to solve the problem at hand.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and ETL development including development patterns, and best practices

Salary Range: $124,800.00-$163,800.00
