We are seeking a seasoned Design Lead with over 10 years of experience in designing and building accessible web applications. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a deep understanding of accessibility standards and a passion for creating user-centric designs that cater to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of designers to develop intuitive and accessible web applications, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Accessibility Champion: Advocate for accessibility best practices throughout the design and development process.

Advocates for thoughtful design activities, specifically generative and evaluative user research. Advocates that it is prioritized, completed, and communicated across the cross-functional product team.

Design Strategy: Develop and implement design strategies that prioritize usability and accessibility, aligning with business goals and user needs.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and QA specialists, to ensure design feasibility and fidelity.

User Research: Conduct user research to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.

Design Systems: Create and maintain comprehensive design systems and style guides that ensure consistency and accessibility across all web platforms.

Stay Current: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in web design and accessibility.

Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to align and prioritize experience heuristics, gestalt, and ensure user needs are prioritized appropriately.
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years in web design with a strong focus on accessibility; at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and a solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Knowledgeable in Design Thinking methods and framework.

Clear understanding of fundamental design principles.

Strong understanding of usability heuristics and user-centered design practices.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
