Moving goods and managing services across borders and within supply chains is highly complex and exposes corporates to a wide range of different risks, most particularly payment risk, cross border risk and country risk.

Corporate Bank Trade Finance supports corporate clients in mitigating and managing these risks globally by a range of product solutions and services, like Documentary Credits, Collections and Guarantees. Additionally funded and strategic solutions are provided aimed at optimizing a corporate’s balance sheet, liquidity and supplier & buyer challenges. These solutions support corporates in meeting their strategic and financial goals. Examples include receivables finance, supplier finance, asset based finance, Asset as a Service and inventory finance.
Trade Benelux is Best Trade Finance Provider 2020 (Euromoney) first time and our aim is to make that to our Brand for Benelux and EMEA.

Advisory & Services builds and maintains an excellent relationship with corporate clients by providing advisory proactively and best in class service. TF & ABF Advisory & Services is responsible for the front-to-back transaction flows, managing & optimizing borrowing bases, controlling asset flows and risks and executing on transaction monitoring. Whilst doing so, the teams are responsible for maintaining regular client contacts and creating and monitoring client satisfaction.

There is a close cooperation with TF & ABF Structuring who provide (tailor-made) solutions across the trade finance value chain which includes pitching for complex facility agreements and responding to RFPs. TF & ABF Structuring also act on working capital needs for existing and new corporates in the Benelux.

The Benelux Advisory & Services team comprises of multiple teams, all headed by a dedicated team lead. The teams cover the area of Advisory of Services activities including front-to-end processes & client responsibility, deal implementation & agency activities, monitoring borrowing bases, portfolio analyses, asset valuation and overall client support.

Asset Based Finance (ABF) is a product within Trade Finance and Lending and is (i) about working capital finance solutions (ii) based on underlying floating assets as collateral and borrowing base. The ABF Deal Management team focusses on implementation of new deal structures and the deal management & agency activities for the 35-40 global clients within the ABF Client Portfolio.

Responsibilities:

The Deal Management ABF team is responsible for execution of the client & deal implementation plan for large international operating corporates with international located assets and performing deal management & agent activities in club deals with co-lenders. The team is responsible for monitoring and managing complex borrowing bases based on a dedicated monitoring plan. The team focusses on the top 40 clients of ABF.

• Responsible for client and co-lender relationships for ~8-10 clients and communicates with clients and co-lenders about implementation processes, working capital requirements, daily funding and operational developments in the borrowing base
• Responsible for drafting, coordination, execution and monitoring of the implementation plan of new clients and/or complex changes in the contract of existing clients, including the borrowing base set-up on the platform
• Coordinates the preparation of asset audits executed by ABF Asset Audit or external valuations and exchanges information with co-lenders, asset auditor and client and ensures follow up of actions points
• Monitors the receipt of relevant information, pro-actively follows up on contractual agreed arrangements and works with Debt Domain in order to discuss and align with with co-Lenders
• Pro-active and leading role in acquisition and implementation process by taking care of implementation and deal management related questions, joining client visits and sell implementation as a value added service
• Execute a service call after 3 months on all operational items including a client survey to signal improvements and set proposals for change
• Participates in different projects
• Actively participates in Client Service Teams as an independent subject matter expert
• Pro-actively interacting with stakeholders like TF Structuring, ABF Riskcoordinator, CRM, Coverage, Asset Audit, TF AS, AFC & Compliance
• Reviews and monitors developments and deviations in the funding patterns, operational covenants, borrowing base –and asset base developments according to a tailor-made monitoring plan and reports to TF Structuring, relevant other stakeholders and senior management on client level as well as on portfolio level
• Ensure routine compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulatory and best practice standards

• Able to solve complex problems, using deal management expertise over multiple deals

• Has a broad and comprehensive understanding of:

  • Borrowing Base structures of international operating corporates with international assets as a borrowing base
  • the asset conversion cycle of these corporates
  • collateral and how to monitor it
  • concept and processes within the bank related to deal management activities of trade finance products
  • Acts as a guide for new and less experienced team members, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment
  • Broad expertise on the ABF platform capabilities
  • Makes decisions within guidelines and policies
  • Skills to communicate as a subject matter expert and on senior level both with internal (TF Structuring, CRM, Risk coordinator, Legal), -as well as external stakeholders (Client, Lawyer, Co-Lenders, Advisors)
  • Excellent analytic skills and risk awareness
  • Client focus and ability to manage client relationships
  • Takes ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
  • Good Microsoft Office skills; Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Education level:

  • Bachelor or master degree in a relevant area (e.g. Finance)
  • 7-8 years of experience within within Trade Finance/Asset Based Finance, preferably in a client facing structuring, advisory or risk role
  • Understanding of Financial Analysis (Balance sheet, P&L and Cashflow)
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
