Why this role matters;

Vonage has established a Data Governance Office (DGO) to drive and maintain effective data governance across the organization. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Steward Lead to join this team. This role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with data governance policies and leading the management of data quality across the enterprise. The role will report to the Data Governance Lead.

The Data Steward Lead will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data stewardship practices, defining data quality standards, and support with driving data quality initiatives across the organization. This role will collaborate with data stewards, data owners, data custodians, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and reliable. This is a leading and supporting role to the business Data Steward and Data Owner roles. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data stewardship practices, with a passion for improving data quality and maximizing business value. Experience with at least one of the following technologies is mandatory: Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Purview, Data World, Precisely, Alex Solutions, Ataccama, DataGalaxy, or Ovaledge.

What you will do;

• Data Stewardship Framework: Support the implementation of a data stewardship framework that defines responsibilities, and processes for managing data quality and compliance.
• Data Quality Standards: Define and maintain data quality standards, including data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
• Data Quality Monitoring: Establish data quality metrics, monitor data quality performance, and identify data quality issues.
• Data Quality Remediation: Lead data quality remediation efforts, including data cleansing, data standardization, and data validation.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with data stewards and owners, data custodians, and business stakeholders to resolve data quality issues and improve data governance practices.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Training and Awareness: Conduct data governance training and awareness programs to promote data stewardship and improve data literacy across the organization.
• Communication Regularly communicate with data users regarding data quality and standards.
• Mentoring Mentor Data Stewards across business data domains.

• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining data stewardship frameworks.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-evolving regulatory and corporate environment.
• Deep knowledge and experience with data governance tools and technologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Quality, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience working in a data governance role or leading data stewardship efforts.
