Job Description:
This role is responsible for owning the delivery and strategy of data platform capabilities within a designated domain. It supports not only the GDP Team but also Petcare as a whole, ensuring that platform capabilities are utilized and inner-sourced across all divisions. The Data Platform Domain Lead oversees engineers in their domain and tracks work sourced from other divisions, driving the five-year roadmap and delivering platform KPIs for Petcare
What will be your key responsibilities?
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and own the data platform strategy and roadmap for the domain, aligned with the overall Petcare platform strategy.
- Ensure inner sourcing of platform capabilities across all divisions and regions, fostering reuse and collaboration.
- Track and optimize the platform work inner-sourced by divisional engineers.
Platform Delivery & Evolution:
- Lead the delivery of platform capabilities, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Drive the five-year plan for the domain, ensuring alignment with the wider Petcare strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Director and domain engineers to maintain alignment and productivity.
Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with D&A Leaders, engineering leads, analytics product leads, and data science leads across all divisions and regions to ensure platform capabilities meet the needs of Petcare globally.
- Collaborate across a complex and occasionally ambiguous Digital Technology organisation structure, using influence to achieve alignment and strategic outcomes.
- Act as the key point of contact for the domain's platform KPIs, ensuring alignment on cost management, innovation, risk reduction, and value enablement at scale, while reporting progress and outcomes to senior leadership up to the CDO.
Governance & Accountability:

- Establish strong governance processes to ensure alignment of platform capabilities across divisions.
What are we looking for?
- 10-15 years of experience in data platforms, strategy, or product management.
- Proven experience in delivering complex data solutions at scale, ideally in a matrixed organization.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with divisional engineers.
- Strong leadership, governance, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to define long-term strategies and drive business value through platform capabilities.
- Strong understanding of data platform KPIs and accountability for delivering measurable outcomes.
