Yahoo Finance is seeking a visually oriented editorial intern to work with our graphics team for 8-12 weeks this summer. 

Responsibilities:

• Collecting, formatting, and maintaining datasets to support editorial/data visualization workflow

• Providing relevant data and ideas to reporters/editors to spur more graphics

• Facilitating automation of updates to datasets via API

• Providing analytical support of data for reporters/editors as needed

• Helping update and maintain Flourish graphics projects

Required Qualifications:

• Active enrollment in Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in a relevant field

• Familiarity with data analytics

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to extract data from websites via scraping or API

• Ability to pull and manipulate large datasets and cull into manageable/shareable/updateable Google Sheets

• Proficiency with python coding language a plus

• Experience working in a newsroom environment preferred

The compensation for this position ranges from $24-$52/hr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. Yahoo provides industry leading benefits for our interns including 401k plan, company holidays, and Summer Fridays. Eligibility requirements apply.
