As part of Sika Informationssysteme AG, our recently created team (Data & AI) has the primary responsibility for establishing, developing, and maintaining the new Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms. This team plays a key role in ensuring that these platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives, enabling efficient and advanced use of Data and AI capabilities.

Job Description

For our motivated team, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer in Zürich (Switzerland). This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure to support the Sika Data Platform built on Azure Databricks. The role involves ensuring the seamless integration of data workloads, compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards, and optimization of cloud resources to meet the diverse needs of Sika’s companies and functions. Additionally, the Cloud Engineer will play a key role in automating processes, supporting disaster recovery plans, and evaluating emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities.

MAIN TASKS
• Design and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions for data workloads on Azure.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring, and scaling of cloud resources, ensuring high availability.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans, including data backup and restoration processes.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and compliance with organizational standards.
• Optimize cloud networking architecture to ensure efficient data transfer between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging cloud services, including serverless computing and advanced analytics tools.
• Support Azure DevOps solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with Azure and Databricks.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture design, security frameworks, and cost optimization strategies.
• Hands-on expertise in automation tools (e.g., Bicep, Terraform, Azure CLI) and monitoring solutions.
• Proficiency in implementing IAM policies, disaster recovery strategies, and data protection protocols.
• Familiarity with Azure networking concepts and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or similar are a plus.
