Job Purpose/Overview

Mars Japan D2C Acceleration Manager plays a critical role in digital commerce to accelerate D2C business expansion collaborating with key stakeholders including marketing, sales, IT and global. This role is also responsible for developing business strategies and operational plans for D2C and provide best-in-class customer experience. Acknowledge digital media strategy as key growth driver and manage media agencies to deliver ROI. Be a people manager with an excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage P/L for entire D2C and expand the business
  • Provide insights on customer shopping trends to support product assortment selection by identifying gaps
  • Work with marketing to conduct full funnel digital marketing approach and being responsible for ROI
  • Create a roadmap to kick off non-paid marketing effort such as email marketing and SEO
  • Deliver best in class site experience by understanding up-to-date consumer journey
  • Support and collaborate with the Digital Solutions Manager and IT representatives to ensure digital products are enhancing user experience end to end
  • Lead data analytic initiatives in D2C area and share key insights with stakeholders
  • Run weekly/monthly business meetings and provide reports with key sales, product selling, web KPIs and campaign results
  • Manage and utilize digital assets with a strong product information management (PIM) knowledge
  • Act as internal digital channel expert and contribute on/off digital customer experience
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns as well as subscriptions to acquire and retain customers
  • Optimize investment and maintain the cost in order to keep our digital activities sustainable longer term
  • Be a great collaborator with offline and consistently think about influencing how to provide great digital experiences to our consumer
  • Manage support vendors and collaborate with CCC for online customer inquiries to ensure great shopping experience
  • Work closely with demand planning and logistics in order to ensure smooth order fulfillment
  • Manage D2C team and bring results by building relationship with members

Context and Scope

Under the leadership support and collaboration with the D2C lead, the digital acceleration manager is responsible for D2C P/L and day-to-day operations. It is very important to plan and execute the digital marketing strategies. The strategies need to be aligned with digital marketing representatives to conduct full marketing funnel approach. This is a customer centric role and requires major challenge in changing environment and existing culture. Under this role, there are interactions with multiple stakeholders with local and global.

  • 50% for managing P/L and conducting meetings, providing reports
  • 15% setting media strategies and marketing executions
  • 15% ensure customer experience on the site and shopping journey
  • 10% people management
  • 5% seeking for technical solutions and acquiring appropriate support
  • 5% for networking with internal and external resources on digital transformation

1. Education & Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Business Administration or Marketing
  • 3+ years petcare and digital business experience managing P/L

2. Knowledge/Experience

  • Understanding digital commerce frameworks
  • Self-starter mentality with the high ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding digital solutions and products
  • Highly analytical to provide business insights and quickly taking actions
  • Native Japanese / Business level English
  • Basic knowledge for Google Analytics and MA/CDP
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
