About the role
Our farmers deserve a world-class customer experience. As the Customer Onboarding Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering this experience for our farmers and ranchers when they first join Halter, ensuring they are best set up for success to realise the value of our product as quickly as possible.
This is a critical role to support our expansion for next year and beyond, both within the New Zealand market after record growth, and also to support delivering on our growth aspirations into international markets including USA and Australia. To help you achieve this, you’ll be leading our Global onboarding and deployment operations team, making sure our customers have what they need, when they need it. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we consistently deliver a stand-out customer experience, and that our process, automation, and systems constantly evolve alongside our business to support economic scale.
We’re looking for a Customer Onboarding Manager to provide fixed-term parental leave cover starting as soon as possible and ending in June 2026.
What your day could look like
- Customer Onboarding Program. As our product evolves, so too should the way we onboard our customers. You will be responsible for constantly iterating the onboarding experience, ensuring an accessible customer onboarding program for farmers, tailored to each customer segment. The program covers the entire onboarding experience end to end: from signing a contract with our Business Development team, to handing the farmer over to a Customer Success rep. This includes anything from app access, to the technical elements of deployment, introductory training programmes, and animal training.
- Operational Optimisation. Ensure that farms are set up with the right Halter infrastructure (e.g. transmitting towers) to operate with our product, and that this is done in the most efficient and economical way for both Halter and the farmer.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Foster relationships with other internal teams across Product and Customer functions, to establish feedback loops to deliver a seamless customer experience. You will be our farmers’ biggest advocate internally through the early stages of their Halter Journey.
- Metrics that matter. Take ownership of the inputs that drive our cost-to-deploy and cost-to-serve unit economics at Halter, and isolate the key metrics and targets the Onboarding team will focus on to positively impact and improve this result in line with our financial targets
- Team leadership. Build and foster an innovative and collaborative team of high performing individuals, where the common goal is to provide the best customer experience for our farmers specifically through their initial onboarding experience.
Who are we looking for
- To be successful in this role you’ll be someone who is super comfortable with thinking on your feet, operating at max velocity, and caring deeply about our farmer experience. You’ll need to be able to flex between driving long-term planning vs supporting short-term execution, and be super comfortable challenging the business and yourself with a mindset of ‘what got us to here won’t get us to there’.
- The right person for this role will be someone passionate about putting themselves in a farmer’s shoes to understand how we can deliver the simplest and smoothest experience to get onboarded and gain value from Halter in the shortest amount of time possible.
