The opportunity
The Country Managing Director (CMD) – Local Sales Manager (LSM) guides customer relationships and drives sustainable, profitable growth in the BeNeLux countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), ensuring legal compliance and meeting fiduciary responsibilities. You execute strategic initiatives towards customer value-driven collaboration between businesses and segments by leveraging all market channels and Hitachi Energy’s full portfolio.
You will report to the Executive Vice President, Head of Europe.
This role is based in our Brussels or Rotterdam offices.
How you will make an impact
- Sales Targets and Fiduciary Responsibilities: Ensure achievement of sales targets and meet fiduciary responsibilities, including financial reporting, legal structure, and quality certification.
- Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify and mitigate internal risks, ensuring full compliance with Hitachi Energy and legal regulations, including HSE and internal controls.
- Customer Collaboration: Lead customer value-driven collaboration between businesses and segments and manage account management structures to improve net working capital.
- Budget Management: Propose and deliver the allocated SG&A budget, pursue cross-business opportunities to exceed order targets, and manage the BeNeLux P&L.
- Market Growth: Utilize all market channels to drive organic growth, ensure growth through service, account management, and domestic sales, and raise awareness of local market trends.
- Operational Support: Support the introduction of Hitachi Energy operating model requirements, manage customer engagement, and lead local cross-business platforms for growth.
- People Leadership: Ensure (with HRBP support) that the area is organized, staffed, and skilled, develop leaders, lead cross-business talent management, and align local HR practices with strategic priorities.
- Core Values: Live core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business
Your background
- Education and Experience: Master’s degree with 10+ years in Sales & Marketing, P&L, and related areas in an industrial environment.
- Leadership: Over 10 years of experience managing Sales Organizations across different geographies.
- Market Knowledge: Very good understanding of local markets’ customers, competition, offering and capabilities.
- Strategic Execution and Transformation: Proven track record in executing strategic initiatives and driving transformations in complex global organizations.
- Sales Tools and Technical Know-How: Experienced in adopting and using sales tools, with preferably product knowledge and technical expertise.
- Skills and Languages: Excellent influencing, communication, and networking skills in an international, matrixed organization; Structured approach to problem solving paired with a highly proactive and result-driven attitude; fluent in English, Dutch, and French
