Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist is a key driver of system-wide communications, ensuring our 10,000+ employees are informed, engaged, and inspired by our promise, vision, and values. This highly visible position will aid in amplifying the Cook Children's brand, enhance our reputation, and contribute directly to attracting and retaining top talent, increasing patient referrals, and showcasing our exceptional culture.
As a central point of contact for internal communications, the specialist will develop and execute strategic communication plans, campaigns, executive communications, and compelling content that resonates with a diverse range of stakeholders, including patient families, employees, physicians, executive leadership, and community members. The specialist will collaborate closely with various Cook Children staff to ensure timely and impactful content delivery.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required (preferred field of study in journalism, public relations, communications, business, marketing, advertising, non-profit management or related field).

1-3 years of experience (may include applicable internships) in public relations, marketing, social media, marketing communications, journalism, or advertising.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI.

Ability to think strategically.

Excellent knowledge of AP style.

Understands the fundamentals of organizational communications.

Ability to analyze information, prioritize work and make decisions.

Strong ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.

Relevant experience in healthcare, consulting, advertising/public relations agencies.

Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with individuals at all organizational levels.

Training and experience in news writing/editing, speech writing and internal organizational communications.

Demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility, ability to meet deadlines and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
