Coordinator, Medical Billing 


What You’ll Do 

This team member serves as Strive’s Revenue Cycle Management representative, collaborating with an external billing vendor. The position is responsible for ensuring billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner by the vendor. Proactively identifies problems and assists in solving payment and other billing related issues. Monitors processing of claims for reimbursement, ensures accounts requiring follow-up activities are completed, and reviews payment posting activities by the external vendor. Facilitates EDI/ERA enrollment applications process and successfully obtains access to payor portals to submit or receive claims data. This individual will report to the Manager, Revenue Cycle Management. 

 

The Day to Day 

  • Daily resolution of accounts requiring follow-up in Action Items work queue. 
  • Weekly payment posting review of external vendor posting. 
  • Ongoing denials analysis and reporting. 
  • Conducts ad hoc analysis of returned/rejected/denied claims –outlines related root causes and assists in correcting claims for resubmission. 
  • Completes EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and ERA (Electronic Remittance Advice) request tickets, online applications, and submits signatures as applicable. 
  • Reconciles and tracks repayments, overpayments, recoupments, and unapplied payments. 
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Office, Word, etc) 
  • Meets in person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school Diploma. 
  • 2+ years experience in a Revenue Cycle Management role with significant experience in Back-End (Billing) related tasks, duties, and responsibilities.  
  • 1+ years experience with CPT and ICD-10-CM Coding.  
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency 60 ms. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associates Degree in Health Information Management with RHIT credential; or active Revenue Cycle Credential such as CRCR or CPB. 
  • Experience in a startup, renal care or Value-Based Care environment.  
  • The ideal candidate in this role will have excellent customer service skills and/or related call center experience. 
  • Mature written and/or verbal communication, analytical skills and demonstrate ability to think critically and operate autonomously. 
  • Proven ability to be successful in an autonomous work environment. 
  • Skilled in all Microsoft Office Applications. 

 

Hourly Range: $28.00 - $32.25
