As an Associate or Vice President in the Convertible Bond Trading team, you will be involved in all aspects of the business, from market-making to position/ risk management strategies. You will participate in research initiatives, manage dynamic hedging, and utilize derivatives to optimize performance. Your role is crucial in providing clients with accurate market insights and actively engaging in market-making across the APAC Convertible Bond universe.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to market-making activities for the APAC Convertible Bond universe
- Manage day-to-day client requests and needs
- Analyze market drivers, market moves, and cross-asset implications
- Resolve P&L reconciliation issues independently
- Ensure all relevant parties are informed of key developments
- Balance revenue generation with building a client franchise
- Execute trades with a deep understanding of market drivers
- Adhere to firm's risk management policies and regulatory rules
- Oversee post-trade processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Share information, knowledge, and ideas to support team success
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience within an sell-side or buy-side Convertible Bonds trading desk
- Proficient in trade booking and P&L reconciliation
- Strong understanding of fundamental and technical aspects of traded products
- Proficiency in market and product terminology, including quantitative frameworks
- Knowledge of transaction lifecycle costs and risk management
- Ability to anticipate and explain market movements
- Execution-oriented with a thorough understanding of transaction cycles
- Resilient under competitive pressures, focused on client needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Comfortable interacting with business clients and management
- Self-directed, eager to learn, and highly motivated
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Proficiency in other Asian languages ( Chinese or Japanese or Korean) desirable
- Background in flow trading products considered
- Credit fundamentals background candidates also considered
- Strong coding (python) skills preferred
