Job Description
Agency Securities Finance Traders are responsible for the discretionary lending trading activities across fixed income and equities assets which are held within the J.P. Morgan Agency Securities Lending program.
As an Agency Securities Finance Trader in the Agency Securities Lending team, you will be based in Hong Kong and be a part of the wider APAC trading team with locations in Sydney and Tokyo. You will be accountable to drive revenues and build the business while managing risk. Our trading team also works closely with Operations, Technology, Sales, Relationship Management, Legal, Compliance and other key internal business partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as an SME for APAC Equities markets and global Fixed Income & Funding trading, working closely with senior trading managers across multi-asset classes.
- Responsible for all trading aspects with to a primary focus upon Asia-Ex Australia markets.
- Generate revenue, own and manage the trading book appropriately, identifying & maximizing opportunities across client portfolios with a cross market/sector focus.
- Maintain an acute awareness of the market environment and provide relevant, thoughtful and timely commentary to stakeholders to ensure transparency and optimal communication flows.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing trading counterparts as well as internal business partners.
- Understand the importance of effective risk management noting the high-risk nature of APAC lending markets.
- Work closely with Operations and Corporate Actions stakeholders to ensure seamless trading efficiencies.
- Leverage technology and analytics to optimize trading and portfolio management opportunities.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skill:
- Minimum of 6 years relevant trading experience across APAC Equities, Fixed Income and Funding in Agency Securities Financing and/or Stock Borrowing & Lending is a prerequisite.
- Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, defend their validity and tailor messages towards different audiences including clients.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and prioritize appropriately.
- An ability to effectively manage relationships, both internal and external.
- Proven leadership experience in previous roles
- Proven delivery skills to meet tight deadlines and work in fast-paced environment.
- Technical/programming skills would be an advantage.
- Language skills, specifically Mandarin, would be an advantage.
