Join our team as a Desk Analyst, where you'll leverage your expertise in credit analysis to drive trading strategies and collaborate with international Convertible Bonds traders. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, covering both APAC and EMEA Convertible Bonds products, and engage with a diverse client base.
As a Trading Desk Analyst in the Convertible Bonds team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing credit fundamentals and developing trading strategies. You will work closely with the EMEA and APAC Convertible Bonds Trading, Sales, ECM, DCM, and Structuring teams to enhance our Convertible Bonds business and provide clients with accurate market insights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive credit fundamental analysis on Convertible Bonds and related products.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for evaluating convertible bond opportunities.
- Generate high-conviction trade ideas to drive P&L growth for the Convertible Bonds desk.
- Collaborate with Sales and ECM/DCM teams to strengthen client relationships by providing accurate credit insights.
- Monitor market developments and corporate actions impacting Convertible Bonds to inform trading strategies.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to establish business frameworks and processes.
- Engage in risk management activities specific to Convertible Bonds.
- Explore and execute trading opportunities within the Convertible Bonds market.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 3 years of experience in corporate credit fundamental analysis.
- Expertise in APAC/EMEA High Yield fundamental credit analysis, with experience in corporate restructuring or distressed scenarios.
- Familiarity with APAC/EMEA corporate actions and related laws.
- Strong technical skills in building corporate models from financial data and a quantitative mindset.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying credit concepts and trading ideas to diverse audiences.
- Basic knowledge of Convertible Bonds products and trading strategies.
- Ability to work independently and drive business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-driven in trading strategy development, with a willingness to take a directional view.
- Mandarin language proficiency
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Direct experience in Convertible Bonds markets.
- Experience with China on-shore Convertible Bonds preferred.
- Equity Research experience or the ability to make directional equity calls.
