JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is looking for a Contract Analyst to support the lifecycle managing and reporting of Natural Gas Pipeline (NGP) Commercial Contracts. This role will leverage technology in the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of complex contracts. We are looking for someone to join the team during this transformational time as the department seeks to revolutionize its processes and procedure. There will be many opportunities to streamline processes through the elimination of manual efforts. An emphasis on technological aptitude, project leadership, fostering strong relationships and providing excellent customer experience is desired.

Job Profile Summary

Prepares, analyzes, negotiates, interprets and communicates information from complex legal documents as applicable to the position
and/or business segment(s). Maintains relevant contracts and information in applicable data management systems. Acts as subject
matter expert for many contract administration functions and related policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare, review, and/or process complex legal documents as applicable to the position.

  • Utilizing discretion and judgment, review legal documents to ensure adherence to contract terms, company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as government regulations.

  • Review and process obligations as applicable to the position.

  • Negotiate contract terms and provisions as required with external stakeholders.

  • Update, maintain, and leverage computer database records and imaging systems. Utilize independent decision making to recommend and approve system improvements as needed.

  • Provide advice, information, guidance, and assistance to internal stakeholders with regard to contract terms and rights.

  • Provide support to internal business units and leaders on all phases of the contract lifecycle. Assist in developing and maintaining contract management policies and processes as they relate to each internal business unit. Compile and analyze ad hoc reports to management, attorneys, and other company personnel.

  • Prepare and maintain all approvals, waivers, and other legal documents.

  • Collaborate to understand overall business needs to achieve efficiencies in the contracting process. Identify and recommend innovative and continuous process improvements, including non-system and system processes, to achieve excellent customer service with internal business units and external customers.

  • Participate in and support internal audits and they relate to contractual compliance.

  • Receive and provide training and guidance to employees in matters of contract policies, procedures, database and imaging systems.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field is highly preferred. Paralegal education/certification and/or substantial directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Work Experience

  • 3 - 5 years related work experience job related experience with degree or 6+ years contract administration experience in lieu of degree

  • Related experience may include knowledge of and experience with contracts pertaining to the midstream energy industry, including in areas of midstream commercial functions, real estate, information technology, operations and construction, and/or other analogous matters.

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of working in and about the midstream energy industry.

  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including computers, land records database and imaging systems, and spreadsheet and word processing software.

  • Experience reading and interpreting legal descriptions and documents, contracts, leases, division orders, industry and governmental regulations, forms, manuals, publications, and correspondence.

  • Experience conducting internal and/or external research and preparing contracts, releases, records, payments, legal descriptions, land/property records, reports, and correspondence.

  • Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: recording requirements of legal documents

  • Knowledge of: the midstream energy industry, including, but not limited to: Company business segments and assets, leases, commercial contracts, construction and operations contracts, right-of-way and other real property contracts, and other types of contracts used in the industry

  • Knowledge of: real estate and contract law

  • Knowledge of: business communications

  • Knowledge of: applicable FERC and state regulations applicable to gas and/or liquid transportation agreements and capacity release agreements as applicable to the position

  • Knowledge of: records maintenance

  • Ability to: apply basic math and algebraic formulas used in calculations pertaining to land records and interest ownership and various spreadsheet applications

  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information or instructions
