Our growing Consultancy team is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Consultant capable of owning responsibility for custom research projects from start to finish. You will have the opportunity to work with our global clients, providing your expertise to help them advance key business objectives through executing and analyzing proprietary quantitative and qualitative studies on their behalf. Our teams create and present actionable, data-driven insights to clients to help advance their business. A successful candidate is a self-starter who embraces new challenges with professional experience in a market research role.

This is a Hybrid position based in Chicago.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supporting and potentially eventually leading quantitative and qualitative custom research projects from kick-off to completion, including: questionnaire design, survey programming, fielding, data analysis, and final reporting
  • Analyzing complex data to provide insightful implications and actionable recommendations within the context of the client’s business objectives and competitive environment
  • Project Management: Working on projects for well-known companies, helping them to understand what makes their customers tick

You will be expected to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with a team in a consultative setting, multi-tasking on several projects at once to effectively meet all deadlines. We are looking for someone who exhibits strong analytical capabilities, pays close attention to detail and demonstrates excellent professional writing and communication skills. High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required, with experience managing primary, custom marketing research projects desired.

What We Are Looking For:

While we may have a wish list, we are always open to looking at different profiles for our roles, so please don’t hesitate in applying even if your experience does not check all of the boxes. We believe there is no one perfect resume for a role, but there is a perfect candidate for us, and that could be you.

  • Commercially-Minded: You have a demonstrated talent for analytical thinking with an instinct for commercial opportunities, taking the client’s business objectives and ensuring you are asking the right questions to get the best results.
  • Data-Driven: You have at least two years professional experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge. You should have expertise working with complex data sets. Strong data analysis and Excel skills a must. Experience with tools such as Q, SPSS, SAS or other cross-tabulation and statistics tools is preferred.
  • A Storyteller: You are able to pull various types of data sets into a story, with experience weaving compelling narratives to meet objectives.
  • Naturally Curious: You are always drawn to knowing the “why” behind things and great at digging into the data to pull out key points of interest.
  • Can-do Attitude: You have a positive attitude and are a self-starter, eager to learn and develop in and beyond this role.
  • Multi-tasker: You can pivot on a moment’s notice; managing multiple projects and varying timelines to make sure client deadlines for each project are met. Strong organizational and problem solving skills a must.
  • Great Communicator: You are able to read your audience to effectively engage and adapt your communication style to suit each client and internal business partner.
  • Collaborator: You take pride in the team you are a part of and the work you produce. Cultivating professional relationships with your colleagues is important and you are constantly finding innovative and unique ways to create an exceptional work environment.

What We Do

Market Intelligence is what sets us apart and what defines us as a brand – literally in fact: when the company was founded in 1972 it took its name from an amalgamation of the two words. We have been defining and refining the Market Intelligence Mix ever since, to offer our clients a unique perspective on the consumer landscape ahead and a clear roadmap with which to navigate it.

So what goes into the market intelligence mix?

MARKET RESEARCH is not the only thing we do, but it is right at the core of our business. The vast range of primary research we carry out and commission is the bedrock of our market intelligence, creating data series we can assess incrementally over the long term to track trends and forecast the future.

MARKET ANALYSIS is the second key element of the market intelligence mix. Our specialist team of market analysts scours the globe for trade, industry and government data, which our statisticians then integrate into meaningful sizing models and future value forecasts for thousands of sectors worldwide.

PRODUCT INTELLIGENCE adds micro-level relevance to the macro context of our market analysis, bringing our clients real-world examples of the launches and goods that are driving the numbers.

COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE is the fourth pillar of our work, keeping our clients abreast of their rivals’ strategies, communications and results, to give them the understanding they need to choose the right response to gain or maintain that crucial competitive edge.

The magic happens when we pull them all together. Trend analysts, category specialists, systems developers, dedicated account teams and client servicing staff work together to provide our clients with understanding as well as knowledge.

That’s our Market Intelligence. That’s how we help businesses grow. It’s why we’re the leaders in it.
