We are seeking a skilled and experienced Configuration Manager to join our team to establish configuration management documentation and procedures and authorize the release of documentation and software in support of large-scale government programs. As a Configuration Manager, you will establish, develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software life cycle including software development, migration, deployment, and security. You will also provide subject matter guidance to other team members involved in the software management lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.

Manage the configuration control process to ensure that all changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved.

Maintain configuration baselines and ensure that all configuration items (CIs) are accurately identified, documented, and tracked.

Establish a documentation repository to track and maintain records

Conduct configuration audits to verify that the system configurations are consistent with the approved baselines.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that configuration management processes are integrated into the project lifecycle.

Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessment, and version control

Prepare and present configuration status reports to management and stakeholders.

Lead software and code reviews and ensure the configuration management plan is executed

Authorizes software releases

Ensure compliance with DoD standards, regulations, and best practices related to configuration management.
Qualifications:
-
Active DoD Secret clearance.
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or relevant work experience

Six years of Configuration Management experience or related field, within the DoD sector

Familiarity with DoD standards and regulations

Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications

Experience managing complex IT projects and familiarity with risk and issue management

Strong analytical skills and experience with configuration management tools

Configuration Management certification desired
