Job Description: 

As a Component Quality and Reliability Engineer at Intel, you will be responsible for ensuring that the components and materials sourced from suppliers meet the high standards of quality, reliability, and performance for Intel's boards and systems products. This involves working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in quality and reliability across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management and Evaluation:

  • Collaborate with procurement, supplier management, and engineering teams to identify and evaluate potential suppliers for key components and materials.
  • Conduct quality and reliability assessments of supplier components, ensuring they meet Intel's specifications and requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions for any issues related to component quality and performance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement robust quality control plans, including process validation, testing protocols, and product inspections to ensure supplier components meet specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Intel's quality standards, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.

Reliability Testing and Analysis:

  • Lead or support reliability testing activities to evaluate the long-term performance and durability of components under various conditions.
  • Analyze test results, identify failure modes, and provide feedback to suppliers to drive improvements.
  • Utilize statistical methods and reliability models to predict component lifetime and performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the main point of contact between Intel and its suppliers regarding component quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.) to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of high-quality components.
  • Provide regular reports, documentation, and presentations to management regarding supplier performance and reliability testing results.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and reliability of components through design or process changes.
  • Participate in supplier development programs to improve supplier capability and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and quality management methodologies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, component quality and reliability engineering, in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
  • Experience with failure analysis, reliability testing, and quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools, data analysis techniques, and failure mode analysis.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor or electronics component testing, including environmental testing (temperature, humidity, vibration).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SMT and system assembly manufacturing processes and supply chain.
  • Experience with failure analysis tools and techniques (e.g., scanning electron microscope, X-ray, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor or electronics industry and its standards.
