ScottishPower are hiring Fleet Compliance Engineer to assist the Lead Operations Manager in the control of all vehicle risks in relation to ScottishPower delivering its Operator Licence statutory requirements as set out by the DVSA.
What you’ll be doing
This role is a critical and predominately field based role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness of a fleet of circa 1300 vehicles including vehicle inspection, maintenance of record auditing, vehicle and driver safety, monitoring of contracted service delivery standards, vehicle environmental condition and Operator Licence processes and compliance.
You’ll keep up to date with Operator Licence and vehicle legislation changes to ensure we meet our legal requirements you’ll protect ‘licence to practice’ via stringent governance procedures.
You’ll ensure compliance standards are adhered to by internal stakeholders at all time.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be technically qualified in motor vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience. Those with certifications of Professional Competence for Transport Management or NEBOSH (desirable).
Experience of vehicle compliance for a commercial fleet and risk management processes and policies, as well as Operator Licence Awareness (for example, Logistics UK eOLAT).
A good understanding of health, safety and environmental parameters impacting Fleet management services and able to respond appropriately to H&S risks or fleet emergency response.
You’ll be a good communicator, able to work with minimum support, and access, prioritise and implement fleet response plans in a timely manner.

- Flexibility to work out-with normal working hours in response to vehicle compliance checking and user responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work in locations out-with normal working location.
