About Legal and Compliance team in Korea
The Legal and Compliance team in Korea is responsible for legal and compliance matters for Fidelity’s business in Korea, including compliance advisory and monitoring services, regulatory reports and filings, code of ethics, statutory fund documentation, contract review and other general legal support. The team is also working closely with regional and global functions in General Counsel areas for investment compliance and portfolio monitoring, financial crime compliance, risk, and internal audit. The team has expertise in financial investment services related regulations, filing regulatory reports, and dealing with the regulators, internal compliance control, AML and ABC, financial transactions, corporate governance, and other legal and compliance areas relevant to Fidelity’s activities in Korea. The Legal and Compliance team in Korea provides cross-functional one-stop solutions to the business and other internal stakeholders through seamless cooperation and teamwork.
About your role
You will be responsible for providing legal and compliance support to Fidelity’s business and other functional teams in Korea as a member of Legal and Compliance team in Korea. You will provide compliance advisory and monitoring services, statutory fund documentation and other day-to-day legal and compliance support, assisting the Head of Legal and Compliance in Korea. You will also need to work closely with other legal and compliance teams in the region as well as regional Corporate Secretarial team where appropriate.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting in preparation and fling of regulatory reports
- Assisting in statutory fund documentation, including data collection, preparation, update, review and filing of fund documents/reports
- Working closely with regional Statutory Fund Documentation team on fund documentation and filings
- Advising wholesale and institutional teams and other functions in Korea on compliance advisory and monitoring issues
- Providing advice and support on risk, investment compliance, and AML & ABC issues
- Assisting in code of ethics, gift and entertainment, and other group policies
- Providing day-to-day legal advice and support for Korea business as a paralegal
- Generally supporting and assisting Head of Legal and Compliance in Korea
- Collaborating with regional Co-Sec team on corporate governance and company secretarial matters for Korean entity
- Assisting in regional legal/compliance tasks and projects in collaboration with other teams in different locations as a member of AP legal and compliance
About you
- 3+ years of experience working in financial companies or capital market industry
- Experience working in compliance and/or legal team in asset management companies or financial institutions is preferred
- Fluency in Korean and English
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, accuracy, and attention to details
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and take full responsibility for completion of duties given time pressure
