Position Objective:

The Communications and Community Engagement Manager reports to the VP of Development and works hand in hand with the Development and Leadership teams, subcontractors, and other support staff to plan, execute and manage corporate communications and community engagement efforts for OneEnergy’s solar projects. This role fosters partnerships with local and national organizations to facilitate myriad community engagement efforts that enable OneEnergy’s solar projects to integrate positively with host communities. The position will also have responsibility for leading corporate communications through the company webpage, project-specific webpages, LinkedIn and other digital platforms, while managing contractors to ensure OneEnergy’s storytelling and public perception align with its mission and vision.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing community engagement efforts with development teams to facilitate project permitting and outreach.
  • Collaborating with development, engineering, and delivery staff to build out and communicate a toolkit of community engagement best practices that allow OneEnergy to establish and maintain an industry leadership position.
  • Performing other development-related community engagement support tasks as-needed.
  • Facilitating community engagement for selected projects related to education, panel donations, and communications of project benefits.
  • Planning and executing all aspects of digital marketing, including website updates, video production and marketing materials.
  • Coordinating the design of promotional materials with internal/external partners including copy, photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Managing public relations and outreach initiatives, including media releases, awards, and company announcements.
  • Managing company and project websites to facilitate clear and consistent communication with external stakeholders.
  • Operating in a professional, responsible, and collaborative manner with all project participants.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, is required in communications, community engagement, marketing, public relations or related field.
  • Experience in solar, renewable energy, land development, or related field.
  • Must effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse stakeholder perspectives toward forming a diverse coalition of support for solar projects
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize/manage multiple projects at various stages of development and operations.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and stress while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Excellent PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proven ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to project stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.
  • Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
  • A willingness to contribute to our culture which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable.
  • Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain. Position requires occasional travel; must carry an active driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
