The Commercial Finance Business Partner (direct channel) is a vital and highly strategic role that partners with the commercial team and leaders in driving long term sustainable growth in Travix’s own affiliate channels. Part of the FP&A and Revenue Management team, this role owns the planning and analysis of sales, revenue and margin, providing insights and recommendations to the direct/owned channel commercial and pricing leadership to help steer the strategic direction Travix takes in this important commercial channel. It acts as the channel expert within the finance team and especially to the Corporate FP&A and Pricing peers, while providing the financial discipline and guidance to the commercial team. It will outline both financial and business operation risks and opportunities, analyzing both internal and external factors impacting the channel performance with the objective to improve the volume and profitability performances of Travix’s direct business.
Key Responsibilities
- Overlooks the direct ‘owned’ channel P&L to contribution margin
- Drives short-term planning for the direct channel, including the annual operating plan, monthly forecasts, month-end close analysis and commentary, cost of acquisition and ROI analyses, risks & opportunities assessments
- Play a vital supporting role to the CMO and the marketing team in strategies to drive demand both short-term (performance marketing) and in creating longer term brand-building strategies, including ROI assessments and setting targets
- Partner with the Pricing and Corporate FP&A teams to drive accurate volume, revenue and margin analysis and forecasting
- Review and improve the commercial finance performance reporting, as well as key performance indicator (KPI) tracking; collaborating with Corporate FP&A, Pricing and the Data Analytics teams to make the necessary data and reporting changes in the BI tools used
- Drives commercial, financial and external (market, competitor) insights; including building viable strategies to expand the commercial footprint of Travix’s global portfolio of affiliate brands
- Provide the above insights to channel leadership, FP&A, C-suite, and Trip.com (parent company) peers and used for: monthly business reviews; planning cycle reviews; ad-hoc analysis and business cases
- Strategic partner to CMO and direct channel leadership team in business and financial planning.
What you bring to the table
- 5-7 years of experience within FP&A, Business Controlling, Sales/Business Planning, Strategic Analysis or Investment Banking role
- Commercial exposure (pricing, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, marketing, account management) is highly advantageous
- Experience in the OTA, airline or travel industry is desirable
- Superior analytical skills with a proven record of accomplishment of leveraging data analysis to drive change - both internally and externally (market and competitor insights)
- Drive collaborative and real time forecasting
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership to lead, guide and influence decision making and goal setting initiatives
- Must possess the ability to challenge the status quo and drive business process and design changes
- Ability to work with different cultures and across different levels of people
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for an entrepreneurial environment where demands and priorities change rapidly
- Systems and ERP experience in any of the following: Oracle HFM, SAP, Netsuite, Looker, Tableau or similar
