Purpose:  

This position is for a FinOps Analyst working for the LS&Co Enterprise Cloud Services FinOps team supporting efficient cost management of both cloud and on-premises workloads.

About the Job

• Provide support in analysis of cloud service provider billing data and identifying trends and anomalies.

• Support assessments of cost savings opportunities for cloud and on-premises workloads.

• Support design of FinOps reports, gathering requirements and using data visualisation tools to create visually appealing reports.

• Identify and integrate data sources to enhance and meet reporting requirements.

• Support implementation of data models to lead efficient analysis.

• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) based on analysis with partner feedback to track areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with different partners to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.

• Drive awareness of cloud costs.

• Participate in defining the FinOps roadmap, toolsets and strategies based on industry best-practices.

• Produce and maintain FinOps documentation.

• On call rotation with other team members for 7x24 production systems support.

• Internal:  Technology Teams.

• External (if applicable): Cloud Service Providers.

About You

• Minimum Education Required: BS Degree in technology field.

• 2+ years of experience in FinOps (Preferred).

• 2+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, GCP or other cloud environments.

• A development background, familiarity with cloud, automation, DevOps, and full stack engineering.

• Good communication skills and management of priorities and deliverables plus the ability to work within a team environment are expected.

• Heavy collaboration and consulting with numerous department representatives, adherence to the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct in addition to the ability to work flexible hours are expected.

• Experience with FinOps and GCP and/or Azure and/or AWS cloud billing.

• Experience using Business Intelligence tools, such as PowerBI, Tableau, GCP Looker Studio and/or AWS QuickSight.

• Experience with data acquisition, manipulation and transformation techniques.

• Experience understanding and working with REST APIs.

• Experience with Python.

• Experience with SQL.

• Interpret complex data sets and align data analysis with our goals.

• Proficiency with data analysis tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings to several audiences.

• Experience with the Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, SCRUM) and Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA).

• Familiarity with automation, DevOps, and full stack engineering.

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipeline.

Technical Certifications:

• FinOps Certified Practitioner.

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).

• Google Cloud Digital Leader.
