As the Climate Program Manager your primary focus will be on driving organizational change and bringing our carbon emissions reduction roadmap to life through cross-functional project management, strategy development and communications. With your in-depth climate knowledge and experience in program management, you will be responsible for driving key climate-related projects forward; including defining the timelines, developing, and managing the project plan, providing climate expertise and working with the teams delivering key areas of work, and cross-functional leaders to see progress and unblock challenges along the way.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Our Sustainability team is small and mighty. We sit on the Supply Chain team and partner with the executive leadership team and with leaders across the business in the development, prioritization, and oversight of our climate-related strategies, working cross-functionally across the business to ensure attainment of our long-term climate objectives and goals. The team provides sustainability expertise, strategic insights and frameworks to enable sustainability strategy development, cross-functional alignment and organizational implementation. We are experts at translating complex, climate problems into clear recommendations and educating our colleagues and guests on sustainability.


Meet Your Future Team:

  • Supporting the Director, Climate in building, implementing, and ongoing management of a new Climate Program focusing on emissions reduction across scopes 1,2 and 3.
  • Being an in-house subject matter expert on climate, behavioural change management, communication, employee engagement, driving organizational roadmaps, carbon reduction techniques, tools, and approaches.
  • Developing frameworks and approaches to work cross functionally across functions within Arc’teryx and with our parent company, Amer Sports, to collaboratively build and monitor emission reduction roadmaps, KPIs, etc. to meet our climate goals with speed and efficiency.
  • Supporting in setting up the foundation of projects; project governance, defining ways of working, identifying key stakeholders, defining key meeting cadence, identifying key deliverables and timelines.
  • Developing data-informed strategies and to create a culture of integrating climate into all decision making at Arc’teryx.
  • Creating an end-to-end project plan, stakeholder engagement plan, and developing content, prepping and leading key project meetings; status meetings, weekly working sessions, SteerCo’s, etc
  • Connecting with stakeholders in the apparel industry and sustainability communities to drive innovation and collaboration opportunities.
  • Driving project management reporting across all projects contributing to 2030 goals and supporting the annual climate reporting disclosures.
  • Continuously adjusting, monitoring, and innovating cross functionally to proactively meet changing objectives and demands of meeting climate goals and report to senior leadership.

  • Refreshing and re-developing our stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Developing an enhanced climate governance and accountability plan (potentially including shadow carbon pricing and/or other accountability mechanisms).
  • Representing Arc’teryx at future sustainability events.

Are you our next Climate Program Manager?

  • You have an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a related field with appropriate certifications or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in developing and leading climate programs, and/or management consulting experience in sustainability, project management and leading large projects and/or programs.
  • You have knowledge of current and emerging sustainability principles, practices, regulations and technologies related to energy management, supply chains, GHG emissions reduction, climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • You have experience, education and/or understanding of the apparel industry and/or with supply chains is an asset.
  • You have a strong understanding of climate and tactics to achieve corporate climate targets.
  • You have a demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem solver with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
  • You can effectively manage multiple projects and strategize around competing priorities while operating with integrity and maintaining personal accountability.
  • You have high emotional intelligence, excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build strategic narratives and impactful executive-level presentations.
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking, demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, are results driven and committed to continuous improvement.
