POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal leadership role entrusted with overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our SaaS company. This executive position will embrace value added finance and drive strategic financial decision making, financial operations, risk management, legal and HR activities to create value and leverage finance as a competitive advantage in the market. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • o Collaborate with CEO and senior leadership team to drive the concept of value-added finance into all aspects of strategic decision making.
  • o Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  • o Lead the annual planning process which informs budgets and ongoing forecasting.
  • Financial Operations Management:
  • o Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and treasury functions.
  • o Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • o Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • o Analyze financial performance and key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Capital Management and Investment Strategy:
  • o Manage capital structure and investment portfolios to optimize returns and mitigate financial risks.
  • o Assess investment opportunities and provide recommendations for strategic investments.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
  • o Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company's assets and interests.
  • o Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Financial Leadership and Team Development:
  • o Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the finance and HR teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • o Mentor and develop finance and HR professionals to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
  • o Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the CEO, board of directors, and executive team, to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • o Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, such as investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities, to maintain trust and transparency.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven track record of success in financial management and strategic planning, preferably within the SaaS industry or technology sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data to inform decision-making.
  • Experience implementing a framework or playbook for unit economics and its correlation to value creation within a SaaS business model.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future trends and proactively address challenges and opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, financial reporting standards and HR principles and best practices.
  • Experience with financial systems and software, preferably ERP and BI tools.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position will remain open through February 28th,2025, but may remain open longer until a qualified candidate is selected.
