What you will do

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory levels by proactively purchasing materials and supplies as needed.
  • Identify sources of supply for materials and service to support MiTek production and facility management.
  • Conduct written, verbal & face to face interaction with supplier & team members to support the goals of the Purchasing department.
  • Accumulate data & conduct analysis to determine requirement to support production and MiTek goals. Create and manage purchase orders, vendors, materials and services to ensure delivery of quality on-time delivery. Be able to understand market commodity trends with associated products.
  • Assist in training other team members with purchasing related processes.

  • Collaborate with other team members and department to lead projects as directed.


Qualifications

  • Associates Related Field required
  • 4+ Years of procurement experience in an industrial setting required
  • 2+ Years of procurement experince in a manufacturing facility required
  • Experience working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management - Institute for Supply Management preferred


Soft Skills
In a professional manner, must be able to thoroughly communicate (verbally & written) complex and thorough ideas to internal and external collaborators.
Additional Requirements

  • 10% travel to visit to vendors and other MiTek locations as needed. Mostly local visits; infrequent (1-2 per year) overnight travel may be required.


Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.
