Job Description

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for a Buyer to work at our customers site in Derby on a 6 months contract basis.

Role details: 

  • Job title: Buyer
  • Contract length: 6months 
  • Location: Derby
  • Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella solution

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The role of the Buyer will support the creation of the integrated commodity / category strategy(s)
  • Support the execution the associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities.
  • You will be responsible for the in-contract management of your designated suppliers, providing continuity of supply and required levels of technology, quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • As a Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sourcing activities are in line with the defined purchasing processes, which will include the raising and management of all purchase documentation within the appropriate system.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA degree or equivalent or significant industry experience.
  • Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Knowledge of Defence Contracts
  • Working closely with Suppliers to build strategic relationships with experience dealing with and managing escalations between Stakeholders and Suppliers.
  • Experience in contract management and a proven track record with negotiating as well as running a tender process end to end.

Additional Information

 **Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
