Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA and is seeking a Business Development Manager. This is a full-time and hybrid position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Individual contributor to develop and implement a robust sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales objectives in acquiring new accounts within the federal government technology sector
- Identify leads for new business opportunities; develop and execute capture strategy increasing P-Win to secure identified opportunities
- Maintain existing while developing new relationships with key stake holders and decision makers with government clients and industry partners
- Monitor government acquisition notices and conduct market research to identify those that align with company capabilities and goals
- Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate accounts and expand business
- Responsible for delivering internal presentations to senior leadership for identified opportunities
- Identify growth opportunities by thoroughly understanding the needs of the business through active communication with the client
- Responsible for successfully identifying client needs, and collaborate with proposal team to translate requirements
- Work with the proposal team to identify and contribute to content leading to submissions of RFIs and RFPs
- Prepare and deliver compelling capability presentations and technical proposals to prospective clients
- Attend conferences, events, and other networking meetings with relevant stakeholders to mature sales and Capture P-win
- Additional duties as assigned
- 7-10+ years’ experience in aggressive Business Development and Sales; identifying and maintaining client relationships with various agencies within the Federal Government
- Experience in proposal writing to include development of Win Themes and Discriminators; leveraging the business development lifecycle
- 7+ years’ experience selling IT Services to the federal government
- Bachelor’s Degree Business, Marketing, or related field, or related experience in lieu of degree
- Agency knowledge and active relationships in any of these agencies: DOL, IRS, NOAA, FDA, Department of Transportation, DHS, HHS, DOD, USDA, Department of Commerce, etc.
- Proven track record of penetrating new markets
- Proven track record of winning awards in the federal market and achieve company growth
- Demonstrated ability to use federal contract sourcing tools to identity opportunities
- Prior CRM tool experience with the ability to extract relevant information for presentation to senior leadership
- Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness, strategic thinking, and be a self-starter
