The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Business Developer to cultivate business opportunities at the Department of the Interior, Department of Agriculture, and/or other Federal Civilian agencies. Individuals must reside in the local DMV area—Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia—and be onsite when required.
Role Specific Duties
- Create and manage a pipeline of activities, including the ability to identify and source opportunities, execute the capture process, pursue prospective contracts, and lead all involved parties to a win
- Build relationships with strategic partners across our space; maintain customer relationships and strategic teaming partner relationships
- Direct and actively participate in positioning the business development/capture strategy for specific opportunities, overseeing and guiding from opportunity identification to proposal submission
- Be invested in industry by attending events, trade shows etc.
- Develop and maintain Account Plans that drive an overall pursuit strategy across the customer base
- Work collaboratively with the SA/CTO to define solutions which reflect customer needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, computer science, or related fields, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience and an understanding of IT professional services
- Must have hands-on relationships with key decision makers and have a track record of success within the Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture, and/or other Federal Civilian agencies
- Take charge and be able to work independently with minimal direction
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role exceeding designated sales targets/quota
- Experience with an industry-standard federal account/capture management and proposal development methodologies
- US Citizenship or Green Card holders with at least 3 years of residence within the US.
- Candidates will have to undergo public sector MBI Clearance.
