Business Analyst, Europe

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Leverage Power BI to create and manage interactive dashboards and reports.
• Analyze complex data sets and provide practical insights to support business decisions.
• Create visually appealing reports and ensure they meet stakeholder requirements.

Business Requirements Gathering:

• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data requirements and business objectives.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for data solutions and reporting.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather, clarify, and confirm requirements.

Data Modeling & Visualization:

• Build and optimize data models for Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop and implement Power BI solutions for business KPIs and metrics tracking.
• Create calculated columns, measures, and custom queries using DAX and Power Query.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

• Regularly review and optimize existing reports and dashboards to improve performance and usability.
• Ensure data refreshes are properly scheduled and executed in a timely manner.

Software Maintenance & User Request Management:

• Maintain multiple software applications, including Power BI and other internal tools, ensuring proper functionality, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and prioritize incoming user requests related to reporting, dashboards, and other software, ensuring prompt resolution and user satisfaction.
• Coordinate with IT teams to handle technical issues and software upgrades.
• Ensure that user requests and enhancements are documented, tracked, and communicated to relevant teams.

Core Competencies and Requirements

Education

• University degree in business science, business economics, industrial engineering or related fields
• Master degree preferred
• Any certifications in working with Power BI are a plus

Work Experience

• ~3 years of work experience with Power BI (desktop and online)
• previous experience in business administration, management consulting or strategic planning, within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
• Previous experience as business analyst is preferred.
• Multi-year experience in labor heavy environments such as manufacturing, food service, supply chain management, staffing agency, airline and/or airline catering experience preferred.

Technical Skills

• Outstanding practical knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI and Excel
• Profound knowledge of DAX
• Profound knowledge of Power Pivot and Power Query
• SQL knowledge is a plus
• Experience in ERP Systems like SAP and/or SACS preferred.
• Expertise in using Project Management tools (i.e. Smartsheet, MS-Projects)
