This is an exciting opportunity to join Vector’s award-winning Cyber Security team, recently recognised as Harmony Customer of the Year at the Global Check Point Software Summit—a testament to our leadership in cybersecurity and the crucial role we play in strengthening security capability.

As our Cyber Security Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering cybersecurity, risk, governance, and compliance projects that enhance our security architecture. You’ll work closely with the Cyber Delivery Lead and serve as a critical bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and customers—translating complex security concepts into clear, actionable insights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define security needs and align them with business goals.
  • Standardise and optimise processes for efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

  • Influence stakeholders by presenting well-structured ideas and gaining buy-in for security improvements.

Who we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the technology sector, ideally with a focus on security risk, compliance, or regulatory frameworks. If you come from a risk or governance background, we’re happy to support your learning in cybersecurity.
  • Experience working in value streams, tribes, or squads, with the ability to adapt between Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong background in digital/technical environments, with a track record of using Six Sigma or Lean Sigma to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
  • Ability to translate complex security and business requirements into clear, actionable specifications.
  • Business-focused mindset, with expertise in process visualization and service blueprinting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.

What We Do

We are New Zealand's largest distributor of electricity and gas, owning and operating networks which span the Auckland region. But we don’t stop here - our reach extends to Australia and the Pacific Islands, shaping a new energy future for our customers, through innovative digital and engineering solutions, metering services, solar energy solutions, electric vehicle (EV) networks, high speed internet fibre, air and water purification to name a few.

We haven’t been afraid to challenge the status quo. As leaders of the transformation of the energy sector, we know the ‘same old’ just won’t cut it. We have the confidence to forge new solutions and for our people to work differently, to think differently. We have collaborated with global technology companies and thought leaders who share our view that innovation and digitalisation are key to meeting the future needs of energy systems and fast-evolving customer demands. As governments, businesses and consumers urgently take action to decarbonise, at Vector we are clear on our vision – creating a new energy future.

Because we live in a world that is changing fast, we must continue to identify and develop better options that will provide value, choice and service for our customers throughout New Zealand and beyond, so the environment and communities we love continue to thrive. To do this, Vector has a vision of creating a new energy future, which will help to deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions for customers.
